Amy Fothergill, The Family Chef,  has more than 25 years of cooking experience, working in restaurants, hotels, catering companies and healthcare kitchens. She had a definite style but found after having children, she had to make some adjustments to simplify things a bit.

“Oh, now I have to cook for little people,” Amy said of her thought process at the time. How do you cook good food that’s healthy (and) that’s not too time consuming?”

So along with the birth of her second child five years ago, the chef and mother of two started her own business on the premise that, yes, you can fit healthful, simple meals into a busy schedule.

On Monday, November 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. Amy will bring in some of the tricks she’s learned over the years to Princeton Seafood Company. Using seafood taken directly from Princeton Seafood Market, Amy will show you how to prepare two special Holiday Appitizers: gluten free Crab Cakes & Ahi Tuna Poke.

In addition to the recipes, Amy will share some tips on home cooking such as knowing how much fish to prepare for your family and what you can do with the ingredients that are already in your pantry.

The price includes the class, recipes, cooking tips and you get to eat the lesson.
